Each model begins with a hi-cube shipping container at our factory located in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia. Upon receipt of a refundable reservation deposit, Prefahb will coordinate a consultation with you. Following this consultation, we will present a "Project Proposal" that outlines the project details and includes the 50% deposit for the client's consideration. Once we receive the 50% deposit based on the approved estimated "Project Proposal", we will initiate the construction of your model at our factory in Ubud, Bali, Indonesia.

The entire process, from the initial design phase through obtaining permits to completion, usually takes around 10-12 months. Permit timelines can vary by jurisdiction, ranging from as little as 1 month to over 6 months. Starting the pre-construction phase sooner allows for a faster completion of your home. The construction of the home itself typically takes only 10-12 weeks.

We've modified our approach and are opting out of accepting projects in regions within North America where there's a site-built conditioned main floor beneath the Prefahb container unit (living space). However, we retain the capability to design a site-built detached garage adjacent to the Prefahb container or position a garage under the Prefahb container, provided that the space is unconditioned. This decision arises from the significant challenge and unpredictability involved in executing projects where over 50% of the project scope relies on local contractors or trades. Our primary aim is to ensure exceptional project experiences, and this becomes difficult when such a large portion is reliant on third parties beyond our control.

Each Prefahb container is designed and constructed with local regulations and efficiency in mind. Through the use of 2lb closed cell polyurethane spray foam insulation, we adhere to a standard of achieving an effective R24 in the walls and an effective R38.9 in the ceiling. As an optional upgrade, in-floor insulation with an effective R24 is recommended, particularly if your home is positioned over a non-conditioned foundation.

The roof is composed of wood joists, spray foam insulation, sheathing, 1% EPS slope package, and a white PVC membrane with seams heat welded onsite during installation. Parapets are constructed on the front and side of the roof, accompanied by eavestrough and downspouts positioned at the back of the home. As a standard, the H-Series can bear a 180 psf snow load. In instances where local requirements exceed this, we can offer a proposal to engineer the floor and roof system accordingly.

Our Prefahb containers are procured from Surabaya, Indonesia and are constructed using single-use shipping containers. These containers have been repaired of any dents and have been newly painted prior to being dispatched to our Bali Factory.
